Lindsay and Dom’s wedding at the University Club of Toronto felt like stepping into something already settled. Easy, certain, entirely theirs.
The rooms did so much of the work. Panelled walls, tall windows, light moving slow across old wood. A venue that asks for very little dressing up, and gives back a glow that reads almost like film.
There was a richness to the details, though nothing felt staged. A signature scent waiting on the table. Candlelight catching the glassware as the evening turned. Even the quietest things carried weight.
Lindsay in a delicate bodice and a long, elegant veil. Dom in classic black tie, a simple white bouquet in hand. Between them, that balance every couple hopes for — refined, but completely at ease.
The in-between moments are the ones we keep. A stolen glance. A hand at the small of a back. A black-and-white frame from dinner, heads tilted close, glasses raised, the whole table caught mid-laugh.
Nothing about the day was performed for the camera. It was simply full, and present, and theirs. That’s what I’m after as a Toronto wedding photographer: a record of the couple, not a version of them.
